Since joining SERVPRO® in September 2023 as a Reconstruction Project Manager at our North office, Jon Emery has quickly become an invaluable asset to the company and the Columbus community. His recent involvement with the 'Be The One' initiative within Columbus City Schools illustrates his impact and dedication to supporting our local community.
The 'Be The One' program, which pairs students with mentors to inspire and guide them, aligns perfectly with SERVPRO’s commitment to making a difference within our local backyard. Jon’s engagement with the initiative has gone beyond simple mentorship; he's actively introducing students to the possibilities & rewards of careers in construction and restoration.
A standout moment of Jon's involvement occurred on Thursday, March 21st, at Linden McKinley High School, where he demonstrated his leadership & community support. Volunteering over an entire school day, Jon led a project that created over a dozen dog beds for a local shelter. These weren't ordinary dog beds but ones crafted from PVC pipes, displaying Jon's innovative approach and creative mindset.
Jon's hands-on instruction in constructing the dog beds provided students with a practical learning experience, the value of teamwork & hard work. This project contributed to a worthy cause & left a lasting impression on the students. We hope they left that day knowing they can make a positive impact on their community & have local support from SERVPRO in their missions.
Jon's dedication to mentorship & community engagement highlights the transformative power of positive role models & the importance of connecting industry professionals with the next generation. His recent work not only enriches the lives of Columbus City Schools' students but also reinforces the strong bond between SERVPRO & the communities it serves.
